2013 African Directors Conference (Sunday Worship)

Special Song by Uganda Shepherds, "Be Magnified O Lord"

The death of Nadab and Abihu
Sunday message by Timothy Chung of Tanzania UBF
Key Verse Leviticus 10:1-3

Missionary Timothy came out. Before taking the podium, he bowed down before the congregation and said in Korean, "Happy New Year. May The Lord bless you."

He also said, "I am going to serve the message in Korean language, for this is what he used to be doing. And Missionary Moses Yoon is going to translate the message in English. However, this is the last time for me to serve the sunday message in Korean, for beginning next Sunday I am going to serve the message in English."

Nadab and Abihu offered unauthorized fire to God. Fire came out and consumed them.

They despised God's command. This is because of their pride. God is not creation. So we cannot proceed to God according to our own ideas.

Moses said to Aaron, "This is what The Lord said" - "Among those who approach me, I will show myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored."

Timothy hosted the conference, so he kept communicating with coworkers to prepare the conference. In the course of the preparation, he ran into a lot of problems. He ended up judging co-workers. On the surface he seemed to be obedient. But inside, he lost joy. He only acted superficially. Through preparing the message he realized that he sinned before God. He repented of his hypocrisy.

Church community ought to realize that God is walking along them. So each member ought to live before God. We need to obey The Lord from the heart.
The key verse of Leviticus is "Be holy, because I am holy." We cannot be holy on our own. Christ died and rose again in order to clothe ourselves with His holiness.

Missionary Timothy then asked the congregation to sing a song 350 praising The Lord who purchased us, cleansed us, with his blood, and made us to be holy.

Offering Session followed with Hymn 246, "I love thy kingdom of love".

Timothy Chung offered a prayer of thanks for the worship and thanks offering saying, "Our Father, you know how far we have gone away from you. Please forgive us of our inequities. Please help us to live before you, not before men, so we would be made holy, and live as members of his Holy Kingdom."

We closed the worship with the Lord's Prayer.

Then we laid hands on two servants:

1) Andrew Kim - the New African Co-ordinator, replacing James Lee of S. Africa
2) Philip Lee - the New N. Sudan director, replacing Andrew Kim. His photo is below.
