Bible Africa World Campus Mission (Scenario of Africa video for WMN)

Welcome to the World Mission Night, "The Missionary Call to Africa".  In Matthew 28:18-20 the Risen Lord said to the body of believers, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” "Here 'all' nations include 55 African nations.

- the size of land mass is bigger than that of china, india, eurpoe, u.s., canada, argentine all combined
- 1 out of 7 lives in afica
- she is rich with resources (flashes of pics of water falls prairies animals minerals people in colorful costumes)

Like all other parts of the world, she has nagging problems like poverty, corruption on politicaleaders, ethnic conflicts, civil wars, diseases, and much more.

Fundamental problem though is the souls that are yet to be saved from their sins, people who are yet to know Jesus the Savior.

For that matter, since the early 14th centuries christian communities strove to import the gospel to the land. Henry the Navigator is one, David Livingstone of 18th century is another and Reinhard Bonnke of Germany in the 20th century is still another.

Their primary focus was relief mission, short term mission, or mass evangelism. And missionaries sent by the European nations such as The British missionaries were based on the support from their home churches.

Beginning the latter part of 1980's UBF also sent out missionaries to the land, but with different direction - focusing on college students, self support, 1:1 Bible studies, disciple-making, and missionary sending. (Missionary Jackie Yoon is one of the early ones; she went out as am employee of the Korean Embassy in Kenya. She

For the last 2 decades the Lord worked to build outposts in 14 nations.  Slides (3 regional conf. photos, house church photos)

Relief works such as medial relief, and food distribution programs are also implemented. (BMC photos, medical relief mission photos, sudan relief photos)

At the hub of four different regions local shepherds have risen, taking the leadershp, spearheading the move to pioneer 'all' 54 African nations as the presence of the african shepherds testify.They work full time and yet go out to college camuses to feed sheep. They fight the good fight of faith to feed sheep, raise disciples, and send missionaries to all African nations. Their struggles remind us of  young Joshuas fighting the Amalekites in the day of Moses, for Exodus 17:8-11 reads,

"[8] The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. [9] Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” [10] So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. [11]
As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. [12] When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up---one on one side, one on the other---so that his hands remained steady till sunset."

Shepherd Patrick Ogwang of Uganda sent one of his sheep Moses out to Rwanda as a missionary. But Moses could not find a job, so he came back to the home country. In a way he is like Moses whose hands grew tired, so Aaron and Hur had to hold the hands up.  During the spring of 2012 with a pioneering spirit along with shepherds Abia, Theo, and Stephen, Missionary James Lee of S. Africa crossed the border and went to Mozambique for fishing. There they met brother Cremildo. After giving him a quick Bible study, they came back to S. Africa. Then through facebook shepherds had a Bible study with Cremildo. He then got invited to a spring conference, studied Genesis 1-25. Then he went back to Mozambique as a missionary. They do not have English Bible so he had to borrow the Bible from others. He is now feeding 12 students from two universities. Last November, Nigeria UBF sent out Missionary Truman Lee and his wife to Ghana as pioneers. Last Summer Peter Ban volunteered to go to the People's Republic of Congo as an employee for Pohang Steel Co. but the mining project of the sponsor company was cancelled, so the prayer topic to reach out to PRC still stands. Shepherd Abraham Victor is the chief economist advising the President of Namibia. Despite his busy schedule though, along with his wife Betty he goes out to campus to feed students.

During the days of evil Queen Jezebel of Israel, after the confrontation at the Mt. Carmel the Prophet Elijah prayed and heard a sound of rain. Will there be "the rain" coming to the frican soil?

We dont know. yet what we do know is this:
** in africa harvest is plentiful but workers are few
** more than 2/3s of the 54 nations are yet to be pioneered. (Green - UBF presence; Sudan refers to both South Sudan and Sudan)
** There are 13 Greens and 12 Whites. Green nations have UBF harvest workers are working. White nations that are yet to be pioneered are:
- Ethiopia
-  ...
- Seychelles
Total = 32 White nations

The list is on the handout for you to pray for.

** most of the African ubf chapters are one family house churches.

* Again in Africa  harvest is plentiful workers are few; ask the Lord to send out workers into the fields, says the Lord.

- the Lord's call is not for the selected few
* it is for all who believe just as is written:
** in the last days i will pour out my spirit on all flesh
** we received grace n apostleship to call all gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith...

- for tis very purpose  the lord has opened up doors for u to go
* NGOs
* int'l organizations like U.N.
* humanitarian services like The Peace Corp.
* through businesses.

Inviting people to attend the International Conference entitled "Africa works! 21st Centry Trends" a Report by the Netherlands-African Business Council  and the African Studies Center say "Africa in the 21th century has already proven to be the source of endless possibilities and trends. In the first decade of the 21st century, the perception of Africa has changed dramatically from being the ‘hopeless continent’ to being a continent of ‘lion economies’, analogous to the Asian tigers. Africa’s economies are consistently growing faster than those of almost any other region in the world. 5 of the 12 fastest growing economies in the world are African; Ghana leading the charts with a GDP growth of 20 percent. Income disparities continue to persist, but a genuine middle class is emerging in many African countries. Investors are increasingly eyeing Africa with interest; foreign direct investment is five times what it was a decade ago, driven by new investors from countries such as China, India, Brazil, Turkey and Malaysia. The time has come to acknowledge Africa.

Striking examples of the tremendous opportunities these economic changes create for (African) entrepreneurs are Mohammed Ibrahim, the mobile phone tycoon from Sudan, and Aliko Dangote, Nigeria’s cement king. The application of new technologies, increased political stability, regional economic integration and the growing number of African repatriates across thecontinent are expected to be drivers of sustained economic growth in the years to come. Population trends further support these promising developments. Large numbers of better-educated, healthy young people are now entering the job market and birth rates have started to decline. Economic and social empowerment lead to a drive for political reforms.

Africa offers new opportunities for its people and for those who want to invest in Africa’s future.

According to Missionary Andrew the African Continental Coordinator one of the best ways to come to the Africa as a permanent missionary is coming through institutions such as the American Achool or Other International Schools as English teachers. Most of these schools pay decent salaries plus benefits like heath insurance and paid vacations.

French speaking people can come to former French colonies such as Chad, The Republic of Congo, Gabong, French Cameroon, Morocco, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Niger, Gambia and many more.

Lately an increasing number of African countries developed strong interest to learn Korean langusge so those who speak Korean can go to colleges and universities teaching Korean language. In fact Missionary Samuel H, Kim the former General Director of Koran UBF went to Zimbabwe as a missionary by opening a Korean language class at the National University of Zimbabwe. He is now the Dean of the Department. The University procided him with a secretary and a spacious office all for free. Dr. Samuel and his wife Sarah uses the office to teach Bible to students.

* Another way to come to Africa as a self-supporting missionary is as a silver missionary. In most of the African countries the living expenses are reasonable so with about $2,000 a month you as a couple can serve a campus mission still supporting yourself.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen 1:31

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Gen 1:31

This is particularly true of Africa. Indeed God so loved Africa that he made special  efforts to make Africa and her prople beautiful. You know Africa produced Obama 44th President of United States of America. Americans believe the Niagara Fall is the world best but the truth is compared to the a Victoria Fall of Africa The Niagara Falll is like nothing. You know how African shepherds and shepherdesses are so naturally good in dance and music. And Africa has world best beaches and safaries. And the list goes on and on.

- across the continent westernization is taking place in full gears (in brunday for example the whole nation is going wireless)
- in africa the season of christ is now
- enemies know this full well that
they also engage all sorts of means to bring down the land and her people. Muslim invasion from n to s, is but one example.
- But Matthew 28:18-20 says
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

one word: therefore go

 "33
