Bible Venezuela, World Campus Mission (Prayer Request for Peace in Venezuela)

Dear prayer coworkers,

The Current situation

 Since two weeks students from different cities started demonstrations against government claiming for lack of security, high inflation rate, scarcity of food and medicines.

 The army was sent to the streets. The government decided not allow TV channels broadcast what was happening at the streets, even CNN was threatened. The army, police and dead squad are responsible for the dead of many students, but the government always deny charges at least they don´t have another exit, like when thisvideo (http://www.lanacion.com.ve/nacional/ultimas-noticias-asi-mataron-a-bassil-alejandro-dacosta-video/) was put on social media, that clearly shows police killing one young and army allowing them to do that. Only after that video was in internet, they recognized the responsibility of police.

 They also started persecution against opposition politicians (video).

 The main concern between many Venezuelans and religious people is the existence of dead squad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_squad) called “colectivos”. They were common during communist governments. The government does not recognize the violence of these groups. And even they say they are only cultural groups that want the love and peace between Venezuelan. But frequently they call them to defend and protect the “revolution” from protesters. (You can hear from senator in US Marco Rubio about his analysis on what is happening in Venezuela)

 Until today the demonstrations at the streets continue and officially about 15 people have been killed during the demonstrations. Hundreds have been put in jail where they claim that received tortures and even rape. And my heart is broken thinking that many of them were the children of our country in their teens or 20's.

Please pray for peace and justice in Venezuela. 

And God use these situation to make people and students to turn to God.

Please pray for me to focus on the work of preaching the Word and raising disciples.

Why did the Lord say, "Love one another"?

The moving truck arrived at the Redding house close to midnight on Feb. 21, 2014.

While unloading, one of the David's eye glasses fell off from one side of the frame. He was looking and looking. Yet, he could not find  it. We almost gave  up, but Philip searched and searched. "I found it!" he said. The glass fell off from the top of the load, rolled off to the side of the street.

So one person loses eye glass, another finds. Both are happy. And "all" of us are happy. This is why Jesus said, "Love one another."

How happy would the life be if all who are on earth practice what the Lord says? And how much so for as one loves one other the Lord also is among them, just as it is written: "The Lord is there." (Ezekiel 47:35; Matthew 18:20)

Three Bible Conferences in Africa

Missionary Andrew Kim wrote asking for the prayer support for the three Bible conferences in Africa stating, 
 
"Greetings! I would like to ask you for your prayer support for the following conferences in Africa.
 
1. Pretoria I chapter (Msn James Lee) will hold the Bible conference from Feb 28 to March 2. 
    Messengers: Thapelo(Mk 2:13-22), Christiaan(Jn 4:1-26)
 
2. Pretoria II chapter (Msn Joshua Suh) will hold the Bible conference on Feb 22 - 23 
    Messenger: Abia
 
3. Egypt chapter (Dr. Oyor & sh Ayman) will have the Easter conference on April 2-4.

Preaching the Full Gospel (in 18 seconds)

While Peter was put in jail, the angel of the Lord appeared to him saying, "tell the people

all about this new life." Acts 5:20

The next day, in obedience to the command, Peter stood at the temple court, and said, "The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins." (Acts 5:30)

Bible Philippines, World Campus Mission (News Update dated Feb. 11, 2014)

Dr. Paul wrote Msn. John Kwon, sharing recent thanks topics and prayer topics. 

Thanks topics: 

1. The end of January, his visa expired but miraculously the Lord granted him a working visa valid for three years.
2. Two UP professors began Bible study with Dr. Paul at his office at UP

3.  For brother Joseph to grow as a shepherd. He is UST (Univ. of St. Thomas) student. After returning to Manila from the visit to his hometown, he now resumed Bible study with Dr. Paul. UST is 2-3 hours driving distance from UP yet once every two weeks by bus he visits UP stays overnight at the Dr. Paul's residence, to study the Bible.

Prayer topics: 1. Pray for Dr. Paul's permanent position as the full time professor at UP; 2. Establish 1,000 Bible teachers in ten years; and 3. For the upcoming journey team (In May along with 5 Bible students, Joseph will visit Korea UBF in Seoul for discipleship training.

필리핀역사를 위하여 희생과 기도를 감당하시는 귀하신 선교사님과 다우니 센터 동역자님께 안부 드립니다

저는 지난번 지원해 주신 물질로 워킹비자를 마쳤습니다. 그리고 up 에는 노동허가증이 나와서

제출하게 되었습니다. 하나님은 up 를 개척하도록 죄인에게 기적의 역사를 이루시고 계심을 봅니다

저의 교수실에서 동료 교수 2 명도 성경공부를 원하여 매주 한번씩 가르치고 있습니다

저와 필리핀역사를 위해서 쏟아주신 오랜 희생과 기도는 죄인이 늘 감사하게 생각합니다

하나님은 선교사님과 다우니 동역자님들의 기도로 이곳 필리핀역사가 이루어 지고 있습니다

어제는 ust 의 조셉형제가 라구나 up 에 와서 합숙하면서 성경공부를 하였습니다

마닐라 ust에서 2-3 시간의 거리지만 조셉형제는 2 주에 한번씩 이곳에 와서 

up 생들과 교제를 나누고 희생하는 훈련과 메세지 훈련을 시키고자 합입니다

그리고 이번 여름방학 때 5월 초에는 한국에 가서 한국 ubf 역사를 배우도록 하였습니다

up 에서는 기존에 성경공부하던 5명 정도가 이번 한국 방문 팀에 합류하고자 기도하고 있습니다

다시 한번 죄인과 필리핀역사를 위해 기도와 물질로 헌신하여 주셔서 감사합니다
