Message:

Missinary Mark Yoon did a new thing - officiating the wedding. One shepherd also does a new thing today that is to dedicate his son to The Lord this sunday. Do you want to do a new thing in the year to come?

Read Key Verse 18-19. Forget the things past, and go for the new things that The Lord has already started and is doing now. The word now demands our attention. Now God is proclaiming. He has already redeemed you. 2-4 I will be with you. Since you are precious and honored in his sight.

5-7 Do not be afraid for I am with you. God's redeeming work will be a global event. Why does God redeem his people?

v. 10 - you are my witnesses. What kind of witness? I am He. V. 11 - I am God. V. 13. Yes, I am He. This repetition shows God wants his people recognize that God is one and only Savior. Why does God repeat like this? It is to help people to turn to God, not to idols (such as beer, money, job, vodoo charms, etc.

Apart from God there is no Savor. If you want to experience a new thing, you must acknowledge that God is the only Savior.

Although the Israelites were still in exile God wants his people remember that God already has begun a new thing.

People limit themselves, by abiding in the things of past. Do not dwell in the past. If you dwell in the past, you not only limit yourself but also God himself for God always moves forward. Israelites who spied out the land (10 out of 12). The Israelites most of them wanted to go backward, back to Egypt. God could not work with them.

We should not try to negotiate with God.

In the new year we need to go forward, forgetting the former thing. It is because God is going to do a new thing.

To the Israelites, a new thing means going back home in the Promised Land where God will create streams in the desert. If you can guess what is going to be new, that is not already a new thing. That is why Isaiah uses the word 'perceives'.

Bible talks about man's fall and God's redemption.

God raised Jesus from the dead - this is totally new thing.

Jesus will come back and renew us. This is also a new thing. 12 house churches by 2030. Next year Mark pervices establishing 2 families. He also perceives a new center coming into being by 2020. 50% are students who always say "I am poor" but they always buy expensive mobile phones. How can he imagine to build the African Vision Center at our own expenses? Forget the former thing. Do not dwell on the past. Do you not perceive a new thing?

Mark brought up 3 plastic cups and crushed them.

We must restore our relationship with God properly through repentance. Then God will start working. Gdo wants to renew our spirit, prepare a vessel and He does mighty work. Five fellowship leaders should not say "I am a grasshopper." Let us pray to work with the spirit of prayer building a spiritual hosue inside, praying for the speakers. Before you go home meditate on the word of God today, choose one bible passage which is visionary as a key verse.

Lord, pleas forgive my small vision, but go for your vision, not for my own glory but for your own glory.

Part II. Life testimony by Shepherd Barnabas Kim

He was born as a second son in an island. His father had his leg cut off due to accident. His mother had to support the family. He fell in love with a girl during his grade school years. He got into a lawschool in Seoul. He wanted to focus on the study that he decided to cut off his relationship with the girl. So he sent a letter to her saying, "I love you. But now good bye." During college days Pauline Moon invited him to Bible studies. But he did not give up his desire for the girl. He sent another love letter to the girl who wrote him back saying "I love you." He wanted to pass bar exam and marry the girl. So he rejected the Bible study. But God did not give up. Pauline Moon revisited. At one Bible school Jesus visited him through John 12:24. God moved his heart. He was deeply convicted of his sins and God's sinforgiving love through Jesus on the cross. He knelt down and prayed. God removed the burden from the heart. Joy erupted. Then he cut off his relationship with her. She then met another man and produced 2 children. Many left UBF but he remained for he met Jesus through UBF.

Then thourhg his prayer the LORD saved his mother and elder brother.
God trained him as a sub-intern for 5 years after graduation. He was then given the direction to find a job and build a house church. He obeyed. He found a job at a company making beverages. Next year he married his wife. The Lord made the house church fruitful inlcuding Livingstone Chung a missionary to Kenya. Later he got a new job at a lawfirm which gives him more time to serve The Lord. He now visits campus regularly to share the gospel to seven students every week. Now he serves Jesus Jesus gives him true haopiness and pure joy.

Thank God for the calling as a campus shepherd. He is now looking forward to the time to serve the world mission as a silver missionary at God's right time.

Part III. Offering Session - with Hymn "Sowing in the Morning" by K. Shaw (1834-1878) and G.A. Minor (1845-1904)

Missionary Isaac prayed that The Lord would bless the parents' decision to dedicate the child to The Lord, so the child would grow under the Lord's hands of protection and provision, that he be used as a man of God building God's kingdom among African nations and beyond, just as The Lord used Samuel to build the Davidic kingdom in his generation.

Eating fellowship:

During eating fellowship I talked with Shepherd Albert Ovon. Seven years ago he graduated from the Universit of Macrere, Kampala, Uganda. He was born in Kamapala and grew up in Kampala. He majored in accounting. He works at the Earnest and Young Accounting Firm as an auditor. Dr. Luke Lim asked him to go attend the wedding in Kenya, and learn about the house church, for he is the next candidate to build a house church in Uganda UBF.

Prayer for Fred and Quinta (their daughter Lovette Charles 5):

Mark Yoon shared with me the prayer topics of the couple Fred and Quinta, and asked me to give them one word. I met them, and had a 5 minutes Bible study. I gave Fred a new name, "1Co11:3", so he would be firmly rooted in Jesus. His wife Qunta liked the new name and reconfirmed with me that his name would remain that way.

The Kenya UBF has five fellowships: Abraham, Revival, Faith, Emmanuel (Otieno), and Obedience.

They have three missionaries: Livingstone and Lydia Chung (Minsuk 11, Moses 8, Hwi Jin 6); Joshua and Pauline Kim (Yaeon 6, Myungjae 4); Mark and Jacky Yoon (Mark jr. 20, John 17)

Five shepherd families, for in addition to the one listed on my blog, new family (Otieno and Lucy) was added.
