From 9 - 11 a.m. of January 5 (Saturday), 2013 we had a group Bible study. We got ourselves divided into three groups: first group consisted of women, the second group all men missionaries, and the third Native shepherds.
I served the third group where all native shepherds were gathered, and unlike other groups who studied in Korean we studied in English.
In regard to the location of the Bible study we were given options to study indoors or outdoors. All shepherds preferred outside. So I asked Dr. Oyo Moses to find a location. He went out and set up a table next to beach.
There although we were supposed to focus on Chapter 3 alone, many had desires to understand the whole book of Ephesians. Especially Shepherd Andrew Cortese from Cape Town wanted to see the 'forest' rather than just 'trees and branches'. So we chose to read the whole 6 chapters of the book.
Then shepherds raised questions on any of the book. Virtually all shepherds had questions on the meanings of the book of Ephesians. I also asked many questions to check whether or not they understand the passage correctly. For example David Lu from Uganda asked about the meaning of 'righteousness'. Patrick Ogwang asked about the meaning of holiness. And the questions poured out. The discussions were truly lively. So by the time we wanted to get into the individual study questions, we ran out of time.
After the study, we took a group picture.
