How Foolish You are and How slow to believe

In today's daily bread Bible passage (Luke 24:13-35) we see the problem of the human race and the solution to it:

Problem: Foolishness, and Slowness

As the Scripture says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, summing up the problem of all men, that is, the problem of sin and death. The Lord God saw this problem and came up with the solution, and communicated it to man, even as is written in the Scriptures. Yet, fallen man became foolish and slow in believing and receiving it. [Why they did  he become foolish? (Romans 1:21; 1 Corinthians 1:8, 2:14); What quickens the faith? Read Charles Spurgeon's Sermon] that is by clicking here - Holdfasts of faith.

Solution:  Messiah (hereafter "Savior") suffering and glory (life in a resurrected body)

After rebuking them for their foolishness and slowness in believing that was said  in the Scriptures concerning Him, the Savior, using the time for the two men walking down about 7 miles of journey on the road to Emmaus Jesus explained to them what was written on himself suffering and entering His glory, for the suffering provides for the love of God that forgives man of his sins, and entering his glory as the means and fruit that enables via the Spirit (he would provide for his children) to restore from ill consequences of sin back to the glory as His children.
  1. Explanation: the Risen Jesus explained taking time coming down on their level, explaining that the Savior ought to suffer and enter his glory.
  2. Service: he also served them by joining the fellowship at their living quarters, wherein he served them a meal, whereupon their eyes were opened.

He did nothing wrong!

In today's daily bread Bible passage, one of the two criminals (or malefactors) said of Jesus, "We are punished justly but [referring to Jesus in the middle] this man has done NOTHING wrong." Luke 23:41

Then why did God the Father drive the Son to the cross, and put him through the punishment?

The episode that took place in the wilderness during the Israelites' journey to the Promised Land answers the question, for in Number 21:9 as people suffered from the snake bite, crying out to God for help, the Lord commanded Moses to lift up on a stake a bronze snake, commanding people to look up the snake and be healed.

Later, when Jesus came, through the Apostle John, Jesus himself explained the way of healing/salvation saying, "Just as Moses lifted the snake so also the Son will have to be lifted, so that whoever looks at him will have eternal life, for God so loved the world that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:14-16

Happy Thanksgiving '17 (My Thanksgiving Prayer for You)

The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him. Judges 15:13

This morning when I opened my emails a friend of mine sent me an email saying he had sent a thanksgiving gift for me. It was truly sweet of  him! And then before breakfast I did a morning Bible reading which is the daily bread on the book of Judges 15.

Today's daily bread passage above reminds that the Lord has a special gift for his children: the Spirit of the Lord, which has seven faculties: the provision of the wisdom and understanding, of counsel and might, of love and power and sound mind, of wisdom and revelation.

Here is my thanksgiving prayer for you, that as you repent and turn to him (Jesus Christ, the Son of God), He forgives you and gives you the Gift, that is, the Spirit of God. Acts 2:38.

Happy Thanksgiving to you with:
The Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and of might, and
The Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:2
The Spirit of love, power, and self-discipline (or sound mind) 2Timothy 1:7
The Spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of  him. Ephesians 1:17

The Lord gives his children  His Spirit so they could serve him as was said here:
He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has send me to bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18

Begin a day singing songs of praise (you can sing songs like Elvis Presley, even better)

After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?
The Lord answered, “Judah shall go up; I have given the land into their hands.
Judges 1
A friend of mine sent me a video clip where a french singer sings a song of fall season, the season of meditation. I enjoyed the song. Then I went to bed.

Then the day dawned. Sun came up. A bright autumn, the second day of November. Look at the sun light that caresses Tinkerbell around her neck! Gracing Tinkerbell the sun light travels across the universe streaming every 8 mins 20 seconds.

Begin the journey of the brand new day which to you/me is like a thousand years, treading upon the promised land, flowing with milk and honey. But like the enemies facing the Israelites the land is not going to open up automatically. So "Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?"
The Lord answered, "Judah shall go up..." Why Judah? The name Judah answers the question: "This time I will praise the Lord." Gen 29:35
So His children begin a day treading onto the Promised Land singing songs even like Elvis Presley.
