In today's daily bread Bible passage (Luke 24:13-35) we see the problem of the human race and the solution to it:
Problem: Foolishness, and Slowness
As the Scripture says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, summing up the problem of all men, that is, the problem of sin and death. The Lord God saw this problem and came up with the solution, and communicated it to man, even as is written in the Scriptures. Yet, fallen man became foolish and slow in believing and receiving it. [Why they did he become foolish? (Romans 1:21; 1 Corinthians 1:8, 2:14); What quickens the faith? After rebuking them for their foolishness and slowness in believing that was said in the Scriptures concerning Him, the Savior, using the time for the two men walking down about 7 miles of journey on the road to Emmaus Jesus explained to them what was written on himself suffering and entering His glory, for the suffering provides for the love of God that forgives man of his sins, and entering his glory as the means and fruit that enables via the Spirit (he would provide for his children) to restore from ill consequences of sin back to the glory as His children.
- Explanation: the Risen Jesus explained taking time coming down on their level, explaining that the Savior ought to suffer and enter his glory.
- Service: he also served them by joining the fellowship at their living quarters, wherein he served them a meal, whereupon their eyes were opened.
