Due to the recent development on the relationship between Korea and Japan I grew concerned about the wellbeing of the friends of our Lord Jesus in Japan, so I sent an email to the director of Japan asking about whether or not persecutions are afoot against Korean missionaries. About a month later he responded asking for prayer support, that is, the prayer for the Korean government/people to not only get along but also to love Japan/her people, stating in part, "다만 한일관계가 안 좋을 때마다 제 마음이 아픈 것은 한국을 사랑하고 한국에 도움을 주고자 얘쓰는 일본인들, 일본에서 사업하고 일본과 관련된 일을 하시는 분들의 생업에서 피해를 많이 본다는 것입니다. 특히 예전에 이명박대통령이 독도를 방문했을 때는 한국음식점의 영세상인들 가게 문을 닫아야 하는 경우도 많이 발생했었습니다. 이번에도 장기화되면은 한국과 일본이 관계되는 일을 하시는 분들은 많은 어려움을 겪을 것 같습니다. 하나님께서 저희들을 불쌍히 여기시고 서로 사랑하는 관계가 되게 해 주시기를..."
