Friday afternoon after a staff meeting in Chicago I paid a visit to Missionary Grace A Lee at her house.
We talked about an hour. With books Dr. Lee used to read in the bookshelves built in the walls and his photos displayed on the cadenza and walls around in the living room Dr. Lee's spirit was pretty much alive.
And her testimony especially the spiritual legacy she said her father had left with her was inspiring: before her marriage with Dr. Samuel Lee her father (who was then an elder of a church he had founded in a village called Jeonjoo) said, "My daughter, you are about to be married to a husband who is a pastor. I know it is not going to be an easy path. But you will be blessed if you keep the three things in mind:
1. Never forget that you are a helper not a director; 2. Never fail to do tithing; 3. Pastor is not going to be materially rich yet God will never fail to provide for the family so never henpeck."
